A typical meeting runs like a friendly workshop. Two or three members give prepared speeches of five to seven minutes. Then comes Table Topics, where volunteers answer a surprise question for one or two minutes. Every speaker gets a short, constructive evaluation. Roles rotate, so everyone practises speaking, listening and giving feedback. Some evenings are different: workshops, contests or special sessions replace the usual format from time to time.
Register on Meetup so we know you are coming, arrive around 7:20 pm, come up to the first floor and say you are a guest. Someone will sit with you and explain the evening. You watch, and you speak only if you want to. Bring nothing but curiosity.
Expats and internationals settling in Lille. French professionals who present in English at work. Students preparing for interviews or a semester abroad. Founders, engineers and teachers who want to hold a room. The club was launched in September 2026 and is building its founding group now, so newcomers shape what it becomes.
As a guest you watch. As a member you prepare and deliver your own speeches, get an individual evaluation every time, take on meeting roles, follow your Pathways learning path online and improve through regular practice with people who know you. Members can also take part in speech contests and other Toastmasters events across the region.
You decide at your own pace. If you would like to join after your first visit, a committee member will explain the membership at the end of the meeting and you can sign up the same evening or online.
Membership fee: to be confirmed by the club (six-month membership covering Toastmasters International dues and club costs; one-off joining fee, if any). Ask any committee member at the meeting.
Already visited and ready to join? Tell a committee member at the next meeting, or message the club on Meetup.
